About The Position

This position performs repair, preventative maintenance, and service of all plumbing systems according to building codes and standards. The role maintains inventory through planning and purchasing and responds to work requests in a timely manner in a Total Maintenance System (TMS). The supervisor will oversee inmate workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the facility. There may be a requirement to respond to emergency callbacks for service on a rotating basis. Additionally, the role may involve assisting in other areas of the Building and Grounds department, including preventative maintenance, construction projects, equipment repair, electrical, welding, carpentry, electronics, or outside maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Considerable knowledge of corrective maintenance, installation, repair, and preventive maintenance related to plumbing/steam-fitting.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of tools and supplies related to the trade.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep narrative and statistical records relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise the work of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Programs and Gmail or preventative maintenance programs.
  • Completion from vocational/technical school, completion of apprenticeship and/or sufficient on-the-job training (OJT) in trade activities.
  • Multiple trades’ experience.
