About The Position

The Plumber's Helper assists licensed plumbers and plumbing crews with the installation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of plumbing systems in residential construction projects. This entry-level position provides hands-on training while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and applicable plumbing codes.

Requirements

Ability to perform physically demanding work in indoor and outdoor environments.
Valid driver's license preferred or ability to obtain one.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous construction, warehouse, or labor experience.
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

Assist plumbers with the installation of water, sewer, gas, and drainage systems.
Load, unload, organize, and transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites.
Cut, measure, and assemble piping and plumbing materials as directed.
Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and prepare work areas for plumbing installations.
Assist with rough-in and finish plumbing installations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site throughout the workday.
Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Stock company vehicles with necessary materials and supplies.
Assist with testing plumbing systems for leaks and proper operation.
Follow all OSHA regulations and Jenkins Plumbing safety policies.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Maintain company equipment and report damaged tools or safety concerns.
Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, builders, and contractors.
Attend company meetings and required safety training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
