About The Position

Join our dynamic Facilities Operations team dedicated to ensuring the safety, functionality, cleanliness, efficiency, and attractiveness of the campus living and learning environment. As a Plumber III, you will play a crucial role in troubleshooting, servicing, and responding to customer and staff requests. Utilizing advanced-level skills, you will be responsible for the maintenance, installation, repair, and operation of plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with national and state plumbing codes.

Requirements

Licensed as a plumber in the State of Florida and 4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license.
All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
Completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.

Experience operating electronic equipment, comprehending standard safety procedures, and utilizing telecommunication devices.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled work or tasks assigned by the supervisor, focusing on preventive (PM) and predictive maintenance (PDM) to proactively identify and prevent potential failures.
Conduct preventive maintenance repairs (PMR) to address defects identified during PM or PDM.
Carry out corrective repairs in response to user-reported issues to restore functionality.
Execute tasks in skilled trades such as heating and plumbing.
Install, maintain, test, and calibrate plumbing components for water, gas, air, and sewer systems in bathrooms, laboratories, and kitchens.
Maintain equipment related to plumbing configurations, operate pumps, faucets, valves, traps, pipes, water heaters, and emergency showers.
Use camera equipment to monitor and troubleshoot sewage systems.
Locate and correct plumbing failures, repair and install backflow preventers, and perform emergency plumbing repairs.
Assist with tasks performed by central shops, contractors, other zones, and departments, as well as events on campus.
Engage in routine work, defined as recurring tasks without specific frequency, and project work related to Facilities Improvement programs, Capital Improvement programs, or upgrades to facilities.
Complete work orders promptly, recording labor hours, action codes, shop stock, and trade notes.
Document the work performed, any special conditions, or situations requiring further attention in the trade notes.
Report any conditions needing attention to the supervisor and update the work order status as necessary.
