About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a Supervisor/Lead Mechanic, this position will provide a safe campus by installing, repairing, and/or maintaining fixtures and equipment such as urinals, toilets, sinks, drinking fountains, and faucets. This role also involves clearing pipe stoppages utilizing drain cleaning equipment and replacing copper, cast, and PVC piping. The position requires the ability to install, inspect, and maintain all existing plumbing and hydronic systems, and to complete inspections of all plumbing systems and equipment according to established procedures, federal and state regulations, and codes. The ability to read and understand blueprints and sketches, and to braze, solder, and use plumbing tools is essential. Additionally, the role involves assisting other skilled workers, performing general maintenance, and being responsible for the corrective and preventive maintenance of assigned equipment using a data-based work order management system. Maintaining parts, materials, and supplies, and complying with HIPAA privacy and security requirements are also key responsibilities. The position requires demonstrating a commitment to service, organizational values, and professionalism, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to safety standards, working collaboratively, and providing exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)
  • 5+ years commercial/industrial Plumber (required)
  • Current Valid Driver’s License must be maintained (required)
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and sketches
  • Ability to braze, solder and use plumbing tools
  • Basic work knowledge of computers (email)
  • Knowledge of specialized programs (data-based work order management system)

  • Plumber apprenticeship or 2-year degree (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Installs, repairs, and/or maintains fixtures and equipment such as urinals, toilets, sinks, drinking fountains, and faucets.
