This role involves analyzing, planning, and performing preventive maintenance of HVAC systems, as well as installing, maintaining, and repairing both plumbing and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in an industrial environment. The technician will perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on various systems, diagnose and repair furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, refrigeration units, and industrial plumbing systems. Responsibilities also include responding to, diagnosing, and resolving plumbing emergencies, and performing routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • 2+ years' experience as a journeyman plumber
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check, as condition of employment.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin Industrial is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, Plan, and Perform Preventive Maintenance of HVAC Systems.
  • Install, maintain and repair both plumbing and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in an industrial environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on all various systems.
  • Diagnose and repair furnaces, air conditioners, boilers and refrigeration units as well as various industrial plumbing systems.
  • Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
  • Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
  • Strong ability to work with mechanical and electrical components.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics, diagrams and blueprints.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings
  • Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper
  • Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements
