Plumber Helper
About The Position
Hilton Mechanical is a growing mechanical contractor specializing in industrial piping, skid fabrication, and equipment installation. Our team works on a mix of shop-built systems and field projects, giving employees exposure to a variety of hands-on work. We invest in training and always give our employees the opportunity to expand into new areas of the trade. We're looking for Plumber Helpers to support our journeyman plumbers and foremen. You will be based out of our Alpharetta Shop, but travel to active construction jobsites will be needed. Candidates must be willing to travel to locations as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 50–75 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, at height, in trenches, and in tight spaces
- Basic hand tool knowledge
- Punctual and dependable
- Valid Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Nice To Haves
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift certifications
Responsibilities
- Assist journeyman plumbers with rough-in, installation, and finish work on commercial jobsites
- Carry, stage, and organize pipe, fittings, fixtures, and tools
- Cut and prep pipe as directed — PVC, copper, black iron, and others
- Dig trenches and assist with underground rough-in work
- Offload and distribute materials across the jobsite
- Load and unload trucks and trailers; transport materials between storage and work area
- Hold, support, and position materials during installation
- Follow all OSHA safety requirements and company safety policies
- Take direction from foremen and journeymen and execute
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
