About The Position
Under the direct supervision of the master plumber, the plumbing assistant supports the Facilities Department with the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plumbing systems throughout the hospital. This role involves ensuring that water supply, drainage, and other plumbing systems operate efficiently and comply with health and safety regulations. This position is based within Jefferson Regional Facilities Department. In this unique setting, daily interactions with a diverse clientele, including hospital staff, physicians, and visitors, are expected.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to use basic hand tools safely
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, hospital staff, and contractors
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous plumbing, maintenance, construction, mechanical, or facilities experience
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and materials.
