This role plays a critical part in validating product performance, improving test methodologies, and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and vendor partners to ensure reliable delivery of advanced optical technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience with optical measurements and optical test instrumentation.
  • Proven experience developing automated test suites for hardware modules using object‑oriented programming principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a structured and methodical approach to debugging.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross‑functional engineering teams.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing or analyzing test solutions using MATLAB.
  • Exposure to test process transfer and support within a contract manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with basic project management concepts in an engineering or test setting.
  • Knowledge of vendor management best practices in a technical or engineering context.
  • Experience contributing to continuous improvement or test methodology optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for pluggable optical modems, with a strong focus on optical calibration and validation test suites.
  • Partner closely with hardware design engineers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues, ensuring robust product functionality and reliability.
  • Lead evaluation and selection of test instrumentation, balancing performance, cost, and long‑term reliability.
  • Collaborate with external instrument vendors to interpret specifications, address technical challenges, and optimize test solutions.
  • Support manufacturing readiness by transferring test processes and troubleshooting knowledge to contract manufacturing partners.
  • Document test procedures, results, and findings with clarity and precision to support cross‑functional teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance test coverage, automation, and overall efficiency.
