About The Position

The PLT Plant I Tire Room Setup Tech will setup and adjust Passenger Tire building machines. This role involves performing machine checks, machine alignment, identification and storage of tooling items, and minor machine maintenance. The technician will setup, detect, adjust, and correct equipment using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge. Key responsibilities include making drum changes and drum set adjustments per schedule, auditing and overseeing the building of the first tires after changes or adjustments to approve for production, and maintaining surveillance of assigned machines to monitor efficiency. The role also requires troubleshooting and making adjustments to assigned machines to reduce downtime, maintaining daily records of machine activities, and effectively communicating any malfunctions or breakdowns to supervisors and management. Additionally, the technician will perform routine scheduled M.T.C. checks and corrections, and other duties as directed by supervisors. Ensuring all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored is also a critical part of the job. Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years mechanical experience.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

Setup and adjust Passenger Tire building machines.
Perform machine checks, machine alignment, identification and storage of tooling items and minor machine maintenance.
Setup, detect, adjust, and correct equipment using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic knowledge.
Make drum changes and drum set adjustments per schedule.
Audit and oversee building of first tires after making changes or adjustments to equipment and approve for production.
Make surveillance of assigned machines to maintain and monitor efficiency.
Troubleshoot and make adjustments to assigned machines.
Reduce down time on machines.
Maintain daily records of machine so that changes, adjustments, and other pertinent information are documented and available for reference.
Effectively communicate with all Supervisors and Departmental Manager any malfunction or breakdown.
Perform routine scheduled M.T.C. checks and corrections.
Perform other duties as directed by Setup Lead Supervisor, Floor Supervisor and Department Manager.
Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.
