PLT Curing Material Handler (MHL)- Illinois
About The Position
The Material Handler is responsible for understanding and adhering to all OEM tire marking requirements. This role involves maintaining the conveyor systems by clearing obstructions and ensuring smooth operation. The Material Handler must be knowledgeable in the operation of the balance pad, as well as proficient in bar code correction and/or replacement. Safely operating walkie and/or fork trucks to transport pallets of tires to and from work areas and machines is a key function. Daily check sheets must be completed for all powered vehicles operated. The position requires thorough understanding of work instructions and maintaining good housekeeping practices to ensure the department is neat, clean, and orderly. Prompt reporting of any safety hazards or concerns to supervision is essential. Other duties may be assigned by the PLT Curing Supervisor or Department Manager.
Requirements
- 0-1 year of manufacturing experience needed.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED recommended
- Applicants without a High School Diploma or GED must complete In-House Competency Test (non-core jobs only) to be deemed eligible
Responsibilities
- Know all OEM tire marking requirements.
- Be observant to and clear any obstructions in the conveyor systems.
- Know and understand the operation of the balance pad and be equally knowledgeable in bar code correction and/or replacement.
- Safely operate a walkie and/or fork truck and transport pallets of tires to and from work areas and/or machines.
- Complete a daily check sheet on each powered vehicle he/she operates.
- Perform other duties as directed by the PLT Curing Supervisor or Department Manager.
- Thoroughly understand the work instructions for this position.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices assuring the department is neat, clean and orderly.
- Promptly report any and all safety hazards and concerns to his/her supervisor.
