About The Position

The PLT Bead Room Set Up Tech will be responsible for setting up and adjusting all Bead winding and Apex bead machines equipment to specification for quality and production. This role involves training individuals on set-up procedures and providing required departmental training. The technician will utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to set-up, detect, adjust, and correct winding and bead building equipment. Responsibilities include making Drum changes per schedule and adjusting Conti Filler machines as directed by a supervisor. The role also involves supervising and auditing the building of first beads after set-up changes or adjustments to ensure specifications are met and approving them for production. The technician will monitor assigned machines to maintain productive efficiency and reduce downtime. Troubleshooting and making machine adjustments are key duties. Maintaining accurate daily records on each machine for breakdowns, changes, adjustments, and pertinent information is required. Effective communication with TPM, Floor Supervisor, and other Setup Technicians during malfunctions or breakdowns is essential. The role includes performing work as directed by supervision related to machine efficiency, high-quality production, and training. Assisting in training new employees and completing the yearly training regimen for the department are also part of the job. Weekly function checks and additional assigned duties are expected. Ensuring all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored is critical. Note: This role may not be inclusive of all work required and may be updated as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years mechanical experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

  • Previous manufacturing experience or Associates Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and adjust all Bead winding and Apex bead machines equipment to specification for quality and production.
  • Train individual to make set ups and aid in training that is required for department.
  • Utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to set-up, detect, adjust and correct winding and bead building equipment.
  • Make Drum changes per schedule and make drum set adjustments for all Conti Filler machines, as directed by supervisor.
  • Supervise and audit building for first beads after set-up changes or adjustments to insure set-up is to specifications and approve for production.
  • Make surveillance of assigned machines to maintain productive efficiency and utilize skills to reduce downtime on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and make adjustments to machines.
  • Maintain accurate daily records on each machine so that history of all breakdowns, changes, adjustments and there pertinent information is documented for reference.
  • Effectively communicate with TPM, Floor Supervisor, and other Setup Technicians when any malfunction or breakdown occurs.
  • Perform work as directed by Shift Supervision, Lead Supervisor, and/or Department Manager related to machine efficiency and high quality production and training.
  • Aid in the training of new employees and accomplish yearly training regimen for department.
  • Complete weekly function checks.
  • Complete additional job duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.
