About The Position

Mattel Development & Tooling Sdn Bhd is seeking a PLM CAD Data Management Analyst to join their team in Perai, Penang. This role is responsible for maintaining CAD assets, metadata, and classifications within the Windchill system. The analyst will create and manage assembly relationships, load CAD data, manage shared geometry, and support product structure and document reuse. They will also handle user access, training, data integrity issues, and contribute to reporting and continuous improvement efforts. This position requires collaboration with brand and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent PLM data practices.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
3-5 years experience with PLM/PDM systems and CAD tools in a product development, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and comfort learning new systems and processes.
Good communication skills in English and ability to work with global teams.

Nice To Haves

Experience with PTC Windchill and Creo preferred; experience with comparable tools such as Oracle Agile, SolidWorks, Autodesk, Teamcenter, or related systems is also welcome.
Familiarity with product data management, CAD structures, metadata, document control, and product structures.
Basic understanding of BOMs and data maintenance within enterprise systems.
Experience supporting data quality, reporting, auditing, or process compliance activities is a plus.
Candidates with less direct PLM/CAD experience but strong technical aptitude, learning agility, and interest in Windchill, Creo, and PLM data processes are encouraged to apply.
Good communication skills in Mandarin to effectively liaise with vendors and stakeholders will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

Maintain CAD assets, metadata, and classifications in Windchill.
Create and manage assembly and sub-assembly relationships to support product structure and document reuse.
Load CAD data and related documents from internal and external sources.
Manage Production Shared geometry states and support geometry quality checks.
Create and maintain product development containers, including team setup, metadata updates, and access control.
Support bulk document loading, container replication, and data setup for product variants.
Resolve data integrity issues such as naming errors, missing assets, and structure-related discrepancies.
Support CAD-BOM tying and BOM reconciliation to help align structures across systems.
Manage user access requests and support onboarding for new users, including training.
Maintain operational data and reporting to support visibility, license utilization, and process follow-up.
Partner with brand and cross-functional teams to support consistent PLM data practices.
Contribute to audits, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.
