About The Position

Electrical Controls Technician is a valuable member of a versatile team. He/she should possess not only the ability to program and troubleshoot PLC / HMI controls systems, but also a wide range of electrical and mechanical issues. The preferred candidate will have a diverse technical background, combining expertise in industrial controls, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment. This well-rounded skill set enables the technician to work effectively in a highly dynamic environment, supporting the reliable operation of complex process and facility systems. Experience performing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of pumps, blowers, motors, valves, and other process equipment is highly desirable and essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3 years of PLC Programming experience
  • 3 years of electrical controls experience
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Background in Direct Logic & Allen Bradley PLC programming

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control panels, instrumentation, and related components.
  • Develop, update, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC and HMI programs and control systems.
  • Install, test, and commission electrical systems, including control panels, conduit, fittings, wiring, and related equipment.
  • Work safely with high-voltage systems and power distribution equipment in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and process-control issues that affect plant operations.
  • Assist with repairing and replacing pumps, blowers, motors, valves, process equipment, and related components.
  • Promptly notify supervisors of equipment failures, operational disruptions, process concerns, repair needs, safety issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Perform work safely, independently, and efficiently.
  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Be available to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during emergencies, system failures, or critical operational needs.
