About The Position

Directs the students to and from the playground in an orderly, organized manner. Maintains order within the cafeteria and playground by observing the rules and being consistent with discipline. Supervises students as they return their trays and dispose of debris. Cleans tables between lunch periods and disposes of debris. Maintains visibility by circulating among the tables and helps children who need assistance; resolves minor problems that might arise. Encourages acceptable behavior by demonstrating these traits when speaking with children. Informs teacher and/or principal of any serious problems arising within the cafeteria or playground. Immediately notifies principal in the event of a discipline problem that is considered to be serious. Supervises dismissal of students from lunchroom and to and from playground. Assists food staff as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Agility and mobility to move about the hard and soft play areas on the playground.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
