About The Position
The Playground Monitor at St. Gerard Majella Catholic School is responsible for supervising students during recess and outdoor activities to ensure a safe, positive, and respectful environment. This role supports student well-being while promoting appropriate behavior and reinforcing the values of Catholic education.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Ability to supervise large groups of students effectively
- Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, attentive, and proactive in ensuring student safety
- Commitment to supporting a faith-based school environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children preferred
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during recess and outdoor play to ensure safety at all times
- Monitor student behavior and encourage positive, respectful interactions
- Enforce playground rules and school policies consistently
- Address minor conflicts and promote conflict resolution among students
- Report any injuries, incidents, or concerns to school staff promptly
- Assist with transitions to and from recess
- Ensure playground equipment is used safely and appropriately
- Maintain awareness of all students on the playground at all times
- Model Christian values and respectful behavior in all interactions
