About The Position

Exceptional Care for Children (ECC) has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team of professionals as a Childcare/Play Enrichment aide. This is a full-time position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week. The applicant will assist caregivers in providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children at Exceptional Care for Children by supporting daily activities like playtime, hygiene routines, arts and crafts, and overall supervision of the room. Ensuring the well-being of the children under their care, focusing on implementing the plan for the day and assisting with basic child development needs under the direction of the lead person in the room. This staff member will carry out all Building A activities with the patients' safety while following the calendars put in place for all scheduled activities. This staff member must always demonstrate professionalism, and engage in standards of practice to deliver competent, quality healthcare while adhering to federal and state regulations and following all ECC's policies and procedures. ECC is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization committed to providing the highest quality of care and services to pediatric patients requiring transitional, long-term, and/or palliative care. We are an around-the-clock residential facility that provides skilled care to medically fragile children, birth to age 21, especially those who are dependent upon medical technology for daily living. ECC simply exists to provide a vulnerable population with as many normal childhood experiences as possible, while meeting their needs holistically.

Requirements

  • Ability to independently engage children in small playgroups and age-appropriate (including developmental) group activities.
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, vendors, and other staff members.
  • All employees must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Schedule flexibility as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a childcare provider in healthcare or daycare.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Experience as an employee of a long-term nursing facility.

Responsibilities
