About The Position

Exceptional Care for Children (ECC) has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team of professionals as a Childcare/Play Enrichment aide. This is a full-time position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week. The applicant will assist caregivers in providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children and young adults at Exceptional Care for Children by supporting daily activities like playtime, hygiene routines, arts and crafts, and overall supervision of the room. The role involves ensuring the well-being of the residents under their care, focusing on implementing the plan for the day and assisting with basic developmental needs under the direction of the lead person in the room. This staff member will carry out all Building A activities with the patients' safety while following the calendars put in place for all scheduled activities. This staff member must always demonstrate professionalism and engage in standards of practice to deliver competent, quality healthcare while adhering to federal and state regulations and following all ECC's policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to independently engage children in small playgroups and age-appropriate (including developmental) group activities.
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, vendors, and other staff members.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Schedule flexibility as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a childcare provider in healthcare or daycare.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Experience as an employee of a long-term nursing facility.
