About The Position

Jax Jungle Play is seeking a hands-on Play Centre Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our family entertainment facility. This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys working with children and families, managing a small team, and creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for facility operations, staff scheduling and coaching, customer service, birthday party coordination, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. This is not a desk job—the Manager is actively involved in daily operations and works alongside the team to ensure every guest has a great experience.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Comfortable performing physical work, cleaning, and facility upkeep.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and school breaks as required.
  • Be able to provide a vulnerable sector and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail, hospitality, recreation, childcare, or family entertainment.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Experience managing birthday parties, events, or recreational programming.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the facility according to company procedures.
  • Ensure the playground, party rooms, washrooms, seating areas, and common spaces are clean, safe, and ready for guests.
  • Conduct daily facility inspections and address maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a safe environment for children, families, and staff.
  • Monitor admissions, capacity limits, and overall guest experience.
  • Recruit, train, and coach employees.
  • Create and manage staff schedules.
  • Monitor attendance and performance.
  • Lead by example and maintain a positive workplace culture.
  • Assist ownership with staffing needs and operational improvements.
  • Greet and assist guests.
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and effectively.
  • Ensure birthday parties and special events run smoothly.
  • Foster a positive and family-friendly atmosphere.
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of play structures and equipment.
  • Complete deep-cleaning tasks as required.
  • Maintain washrooms, party rooms, reception areas, and staff areas.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as painting touch-ups, minor repairs, assembling equipment, changing light bulbs, and organizing storage areas.
  • Coordinate larger repairs and maintenance services when necessary.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies and facility inventory remain adequately stocked.
  • Complete cash reconciliations and deposits.
  • Manage inventory and supply orders.
  • Prepare basic operational reports.
  • Monitor bookings and assist with revenue-generating initiatives.
