About The Position

The Plating Technician will use a variety of chemical materials to coat the surface of metal parts. This role involves racking and unracking parts, monitoring the plating line during production, and loading/unloading plating barrels. The technician will also perform quality checks using measurement equipment, enter job information into the computer, and adhere to work instructions and quality inspection standards in a fast-paced production system. Maintaining safe work practices, proper use of safety equipment, and keeping the plating area clean are essential. The role also requires maintaining 6S standards and completing other assigned duties.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic plating on metal.
Basic computer skills.
Mechanical inclination.
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Ability to follow instructions and processes (written, oral, diagram, or schedule form).
Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.

Willingness to have performance measured daily.
Routine, repetitive lifting up to 35 lbs., occasional, heavy lifting, and pushing / pulling 10 lbs. regularly, 1 to 10 hours per day.
Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, and walking 8 to 10 hours per day.
Ability to work up to 8-10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work.
Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time.
Simultaneous mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area.

Responsibilities

Racks and unracks parts.
Monitors line during production.
Loads and unloads plating barrels.
Completes quality checks with measurement equipment.
Enters job information into computer.
Reads and understands work instructions and quality inspection standards and applies the documents in a fast-paced production system.
Maintains safe work practices and procedures in the plating area; uses proper safety equipment correctly.
Maintains a safe and clean area around chemical storage area, filtration, regeneration and recovering equipment.
Operates machinery in a safe manner.
Maintains 6S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) standards in all work stations.
Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
