About The Position

This position is responsible for the setup and operation of chemical processing lines including Citric and Nitric Passivation and Chromate. The role involves maintaining accurate production and inspection records, loading and unloading parts for processing, cleaning and rinsing parts, and performing in-process and post-process inspections. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, making adjustments to processing solutions, and ensuring proper handling of parts to maintain traceability. Safety and a clean working environment are paramount, requiring adherence to safety rules and the use of appropriate PPE. The role also includes assisting with utility duties and ensuring the prompt and proper completion of all required paperwork.

  • Ability to read, write and interpret English to avoid injury to self and others.
  • Must keep supervisor informed of any problems when they occur.
  • Capable of operating a hoist and forklift.
  • Attendance at work is an essential function of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Follow general instructions of processing specifications, supplemented by specific instructions on operations sheets and method sheets.
  • Maintain accurate records of production and inspection, including log books and completed method sheets with all variable processing data recorded.
  • Load and unload work in baskets, barrels, racks, etc. for processing.
  • Clean production parts, baskets, etc.
  • Rinse parts after cleaning and verify presence of water break-free surface.
  • Rinse and dry work, place work in containers and bake as required.
  • Pre-plan work to ensure time limitations of the process are adhered to and production is maximized.
  • Perform in-process and post-process inspections as required for particular chemical process.
  • Clean and maintain equipment; observe various gauges and meters to ensure lines are working properly.
  • Stop the processing line when equipment is not operating properly.
  • Make adjustments as needed to processing solution working level (water adds).
  • Make chemical adds to various processing solutions at the direction of solution analysis personnel; may be required to assist in mixing and testing solutions.
  • Mask work for plating, as required.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment; follow all safety rules including wearing of appropriate PPE and maintain 5S improvements.
  • Assist in Utility Duties as needed.
  • Prompt and proper completion of all required paperwork.
  • Proper handling and integrity of router packet and enclosed information.
  • Continuous part handling in a manner that preserves part/batch traceability.
  • Operate a hoist and forklift.
