About The Position

Waabi is a leader in Physical AI, focused on unlocking the next era of autonomous transportation with technology powering commercial autonomous trucks and robotaxis. This role involves creating verification plans for autonomous vehicle subsystems, developing and maintaining test infrastructure (simulation, CI, analytics dashboards), and performing automated test execution and reporting. The engineer will own the verification of the autonomy platform software against requirements, act as a central point of contact for code module verification (localization, motion planning, control), and define improvements for the simulator to effectively verify autonomous platform aspects. They will also own the writing and tracking of tests, create statistical analysis methods for platform performance, implement tools to automate verification processes, and work closely with engineering teams to validate AV software releases before physical deployment. An in-depth understanding of sensors, compute, and actuators in self-driving systems is required.

Requirements

Bachelors in an engineering discipline (MS/PhD preferred) with 3+ years of experience in automotive, robotics, or a related industry.
Proven experience in systems engineering, verification and validation (V&V), and working with requirements and metrics.
Knowledge of the typical autonomous vehicle stack.
Experience in verification of complex systems.
Strong fundamentals in mathematics, engineering and physics and basic understanding of vehicle dynamics.
Strong software development skills (Python, C++, or Rust) with proficiency in data analysis and statistics.

Nice To Haves

Experience developing and launching products in the autonomous vehicle or robotics industries.

Responsibilities

Creating verification plans for autonomous vehicle subsystems based on requirements.
Developing and maintaining test infrastructure including simulation, Continuous Integration (CI) and analytics dashboards.
Automated test execution and reporting.
Own the verification of autonomy platform software against requirements and define ways to evaluate them efficiently and effectively.
Act as a central point of contact for verification of code modules including localization, motion planning and control.
Define necessary improvements for our highly realistic simulator to effectively verify autonomous platform aspects under all required conditions.
Own the writing and tracking of tests and test executions in line with company project milestones.
Create statistical analysis methods to inspect platform performance across large datasets.
Implement tools and methodologies to streamline and automate the Waabi platform verification processes.
Work closely with multiple engineering teams to validate AV software releases before physical deployment.
