Platform Security Team Lead

About The Position

DRW is seeking a Platform Security Team Lead to manage a small, high-impact team focused on securing the core systems of the business, including identity, AI platforms, servers, and endpoints. This is a hands-on leadership role where the individual will define strategy and remain involved in the engineering work. The role involves setting direction, elevating standards across various domains, and collaborating with platform, infrastructure, and business teams to implement scalable controls that align with DRW's operational model. Previous experience in the trading/financial industry is preferred but not mandatory.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering background with experience in infrastructure, or security engineering
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical engineers
  • Hands-on depth across systems such as Active Directory, Entra ID, Windows, macOS, Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL), modern identity platforms, and endpoint or server security tooling
  • Comfortable operating across multiple domains and making clear-headed tradeoffs under competing priorities
  • Pragmatic grasp of security principles - you know when to push hard and when to ship something good enough to iterate on
  • Strong communicator who can move fluidly between deep technical discussions and business conversations
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion in complex, fast-moving environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, trading, or other latency- and uptime-sensitive environments
  • Deep expertise in one or more of: identity architecture, AI/ML security, server hardening, or endpoint security
  • Experience building or scaling a platform or security engineering team from the ground up
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory or risk frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of platform security engineers across Identity, AI, Server, and Client security domains
  • Stay technically engaged by reviewing architectures, weigh in on designs, and contributing directly to security engineering work where it matters most
  • Partner with platform and infrastructure teams to design and implement scalable security controls
  • Shape and prioritize the team's roadmap based on risk, business impact, and improving the overall security program
  • Drive consistency and raise the standard of practices across all platform security domains
  • Mentor engineers and support their technical growth and development
  • Improve processes, tooling, and automation to increase team effectiveness
  • Act as a key point of coordination between security, platform, and business stakeholders
