About The Position

The Platform Operations Coordinator is responsible for maintaining assigned platforms from an upgrade, patching, and release perspective. This role involves collaboration with internal and external teams to coordinate, upgrade, oversee, and support multiple platforms. The coordinator monitors platforms for new features, implements them, and develops platform update plan templates. They also serve as a subject matter expert, troubleshooting and researching platform issues, and optimizing platform design by assessing company and client needs. Additionally, this role manages client quotes and assigns tickets to the team for designated platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Five or more (5+) years of experience in financial institution core processing.
  • Five or more (5+) years of experience with the Symitar core platform.
  • Experience managing multiple projects at once.
  • Two (2) years of related programming experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of the financial industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Symitar core platform.
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications.
  • Understanding of related programming languages and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, plan, and oversee upgrades of credit union user platforms, including service packs and semi-annual major releases, both internally and with clients.
  • Administer platforms by adding new users and performing other assigned tasks.
  • Work with impacted team managers to select load dates and set employee schedules.
  • Organize and open prep tickets for each event to track and complete applicable activities (e.g., symhost cleanup, test syms prep, SYSCONSOLELOGs review).
  • Organize the opening of ancillary product upgrade tickets and ensure clients receive applicable documentation, testing checklists, and sign-offs.
  • Participate and oversee as the coordinator during upgrade, patching, and release events.
  • Facilitate and ensure all applicable checklists are up to date for each maintenance event.
  • Compose and send out logistics emails summarizing anticipated activities for releases, service packs, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Oversee the scheduling of GOODNIGHT time alterations for clients during release/maintenance windows.
  • Keep MDT management updated on maintenance event progress.
  • Collaborate with the Training team to provide release training opportunities and/or documentation internally and to clients.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure clients receive communications on maintenance events (documentation, MSI information, dates/schedules, testing information, etc.).
  • Work with the Technical Services team to ensure applicable MSIs are pushed to all internal workstations for maintenance events.
  • Keep Jack Henry and other third-party vendors updated on release dates for clients, including opening jSource cases for applicable Symitar products.
  • Actively participate in and help facilitate Alpha/Beta testing with Jack Henry and work with interested clients.
  • Coordinate application maintenance as assigned to increase efficiency or add value services (e.g., archiving, symhost cleanup, implementing enhanced drivers).
  • Document step-by-step upgrade instructions and processes and publish on internal resource pages (e.g., Wiki).
  • Document step-by-step setup instructions for clients to find maintenance documentation and MSI downloads and publish the article, ensuring documentation is kept up to date.
  • Assess company and client needs, looking for areas for improvement.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for co-workers and demonstrate expertise in related functions.
  • Mentor and/or cross-train other team members.
  • Work independently on high complexity project work / major events.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality work and possess high-level multi-tasking skills.
  • Manage client quotes and assign tickets to the team for designated platforms.
  • Assist teams with day-to-day client requests.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client objectives and assess their business strategies and needs in relation to their objectives.
  • Serve as an On-call Level III escalation point.
  • Assist applicable teams (e.g., AIX) with Symitar daily maintenance to ensure platform efficiency.
  • Apply best practice end-user experience to new feature support, client support, and internal team support.
  • Serve as an escalation point for their team.
  • Work with other departments to ensure work flows effectively and timely throughout the organization.
  • Keep management team informed of progress towards established objectives and any significant challenges.
  • Complete required reports and records.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and committees as required.
  • Act as a liaison for all assigned platforms.
  • Keep work area clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
