About The Position
Zocdoc is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to lead our platform engineering team. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our healthcare marketplace infrastructure. You will be responsible for guiding a team of talented engineers to build and maintain the systems that power our mission of giving power to the patient. Requirements
- Proven experience in a leadership role managing platform or infrastructure engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Extensive experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Solid understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of large-scale systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of platform engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of Zocdoc's core infrastructure, including cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our platform to support millions of users and providers.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to define and implement infrastructure strategies and best practices.
- Drive innovation in platform engineering, exploring and adopting new technologies to improve efficiency and performance.
- Manage on-call rotations and incident response to ensure minimal disruption to services.
- Contribute to the strategic roadmap for platform engineering, aligning with Zocdoc's overall business objectives.
