Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. The Platform Team is Responsible for development and maintenance of high-level Ground Antenna Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) subsystems, systems and workstations. They Design, develop and deploy the end-to end integrated systems and associated applications; networks, and related data center compute platforms to our customers both at CONUS and OCONUS Locations. This role is for a Senior. Principal Platform Engineer (Deployment Lead) for the Program’s Site Deployment Team, which will coordinate and support deliveries of the physical COTS environments to our customer’s locations. The ideal candidate will be working with the Program’s IPT LEADERSHIP and customer planning, coordination, and installation of Ground Antenna Systems to customer facilities. The ideal candidate needs to have a strong background in data center equipment deployments, understand electrical and electronic concepts, and have hands-on experience with various types of test equipment and related tools. They must be a highly motivated, self-starter that can quickly learn/assimilate complex situations/problems. Note This position is based in Aurora CO. and may require some travel (~20%) or on call support/overtime to support program or organizational hardware operations activities.

Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and a minimum 10 years of related work experience
  • Experience with complex satellite ground systems, particularly previous deployment of developed systems to ground system and data processing operations for customers or the Factory
  • Experience with Data center activities and related hardware system deliveries and related requirements
  • Experience with performing studies and provide new solutions for a hybrid approach to future Ground Terminal/data and compute environments
  • Active and Current TS/SCI security clearance is required Day 1.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the design of traditional Platform environments
  • Experience with troubleshooting applications & infrastructure on Linux and or Windows based Operating Systems
  • Strong background in Datacenter design and development
  • Experience with field/site deployment of complex compute, network, storage, and COTS based satellite ground systems
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic concepts and principles
  • Strong understanding of Power and Grounding schemes
  • Strong background in data center cabling to include Cat-(5+) and fiber Optic cabling
  • Willing/able to travel to customer locations in CONUS/OCONUS locations
  • Current active Passport
  • Experience with the Agile development lifecycle
  • Experience with SAFe agile processes
  • Notional Experience in Networks; SAN/NAS designs and implementation
  • Notional Experience in Security and related Security patching
  • Notional Experience with programming languages (E.g. Pearl, Java, Ruby, Bash).

Responsibilities

  • Leverage industry and company best practices and capabilities to develop and coordinate platform solutions for our datacenters
  • Lead and coordinate Platform systems and related COTS hardware deliveries to our customer sites
  • Be the focal point for Program IPT Leadership to provide schedule and delivery reporting for system deliveries
  • Assist the team on resource allocation & utilization to meet program or organizational milestones
  • Be an integral part of maintaining these systems and working with the organization’s needs related to Platform Deliveries as defined by your leadership
  • Ensure that the COTS stack and versioning is consistent across the platform as required to Configuration Management Guidelines; and will work with the team to coordinate updates as necessary
  • Travel to customer sites to lead and assist with system updates and deliveries when necessary
