Platform Engineer - AI Guardrails (OpenShift)

Bank of America•Charlotte, NC
•Onsite

About The Position

The Platform Engineer engineers and operates enterprise vendor platforms in Bank of America’s on-premises Red Hat OpenShift environment. The role owns deployment, configuration, reliability, and day-to-day support of an AI guardrails platform positioned in the request path of the bank’s GenAI applications. Because the platform handles production traffic, availability, latency, and rapid recovery are central priorities. This is a platform and systems engineering role, not a model development role, focused on keeping a business-critical third-party platform secure, stable, performant, and recoverable as adoption grows. The engineer works closely with the vendor, OpenShift platform teams, information security, and application teams that use the service. The position calls for hands-on ownership of production issues, the ability to learn tools quickly, and leadership of cross-functional work. AI tooling exposure is helpful, while experience operating enterprise platforms in production is most important. Bank of America describes an in-office culture intended to support collaboration, engagement, and career development, with role-specific flexibility based on responsibilities and business needs. The listed locations are Jersey City and Pennington, New Jersey, and Richmond, Virginia. The role is 1st shift and 40 hours per week.
