Platform Engineer

Eclipse AutomationCambridge, ON
Onsite

About The Position

Eclipse Automation delivers cutting-edge custom automated manufacturing solutions across multiple industries, combining advanced automation expertise with digital innovation to create smart, efficient, and sustainable manufacturing systems. The company has a global network with facilities in Canada, the United States, and Hungary. The Platform Engineer will be responsible for owning, designing, building, and maintaining Eclipse's cloud infrastructure on Azure, focusing on reliability and developer experience. This includes CI/CD & DevOps, building and maintaining deployment pipelines, managing AI infrastructure, Omniverse & Nucleus operations, implementing security & governance, and building observability across the platform stack. The role also involves using AI coding agents to automate infrastructure tasks and contributing to harness engineering practice. The engineer will work closely with architects, developers, tech leads, and leadership.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years in a platform/infrastructure/DevSecOps role
  • Experience with core Azure services (VNets, AKS/ARO, Azure AD/Entra, Key Vault, Storage, App Gateway)
  • Comfortable operating in Azure
  • Experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift — deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containerized workloads
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines — Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Understanding of how LLMs, AI agents, and model serving work
  • Experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenClaw or similar) in your daily workflow
  • Willing to operate AI agents as part of the platform
  • Security mindset — least-privilege, secrets management, network segmentation
  • Understands why agent sandboxing matters

Nice To Haves

  • NVIDIA ecosystem — Omniverse, Nucleus, DGX Cloud, Isaac Sim, or NGC experience
  • GPU infrastructure provisioning and managing GPU nodes for ML/simulation workloads
  • OpenUSD / 3D pipelines understanding of digital twin infrastructure
  • Docker + container security — hardening images, scanning, runtime policies
  • Monitoring stack — Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, or similar
  • Python scripting — for automation, glue code, and tooling
  • .NET / C#
  • Builder, not just operator — you want to make the platform better, not just keep it running
  • Curiosity & Continual Learning — you feel a need to explore the cutting edge, learn horizontally across industries, and apply those lessons in your work
  • You use AI tools to accelerate your work and are excited about AI agents managing infrastructure
  • Ownership mentality — if it's broken at 2am and you know how to fix it, you fix it (but you also build the automation so it doesn't happen again)
  • Comfortable with ambiguity — this is a transformation, not a maintenance gig

Responsibilities

  • Own the platform — Design, build, and maintain Eclipse's cloud infrastructure on Azure (OpenShift/ARO, networking, identity, security) with a focus on reliability and developer experience
  • Build and maintain deployment pipelines for Kit applications (Omniverse), web platform (React/TypeScript), AI services, and connector ecosystem using Azure DevOps
  • Provision and manage GPU compute (DGX Cloud, on-prem RTX), model serving endpoints, and AI agent runtime environments (NemoClaw/OpenShell sandboxing)
  • Manage Nucleus collaboration servers, Omniverse Container deployments, OVC streaming infrastructure, and SimReady asset pipelines
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code, secrets management, network policies, and access controls
  • Ensure AI agents operate within defined security boundaries
  • Build monitoring, logging, and alerting across the platform stack
  • Trace AI agent activity
  • Surface issues before they become outages
  • Use AI coding agents to automate infrastructure tasks, generate IaC, and accelerate platform work
  • Contribute to the team's harness engineering practice

Benefits

  • RRSP
  • Health/dental/vision package
  • Reimbursement for tuition and professional dues
  • Paid vacation
  • Personal days
  • Sick days
  • RRSP matching program
  • Free snack program
