Platform Engineer (Software Engineer II/III)

We value curiosity, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. We’re looking for a Platform Engineer/Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. This team builds and maintains foundational systems that empower engineering teams across the company to ship high-quality software quickly and reliably. In this role, you’ll work on organization-wide CI/CD systems, help shape our internal developer platform (IDP), and contribute to improving the engineering experience at scale, including the opportunity to make use of some of the newest and most transformational cutting-edge tools available. You’ll collaborate closely with senior engineers and stakeholders, gaining hands-on experience with tooling, automation, and infrastructure that supports hundreds of developers. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who is excited about building tools for engineers, learning how systems work behind the scenes, and contributing to high-leverage platform work.
Requirements
- Two or more years writing and shipping production software, with working proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, or TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar). You have built or substantially reworked pipelines, not only consumed them
- Working knowledge of Docker: you can write and debug a Dockerfile and explain the tradeoffs behind your image and layer choices
- Experience owning something end to end. A service, a pipeline, an internal tool, or a library where you were the person responsible for it working
- Comfort working in a Unix-like environment and using Git
- A systematic approach to debugging systems you did not write
- Strong opinions, weakly held
- A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn from others
- Ability to communicate clearly and ask thoughtful questions
- Curiosity about infrastructure and developer tooling, and real interest in what makes other engineers faster
Nice To Haves
- Experience on a platform, infrastructure, or developer-productivity team
- Kubernetes in a production context
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar)
- Fluency with agentic coding tools in your daily workflow
- Observability tooling (New Relic, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
Responsibilities
- Help maintain and improve CI pipelines used across many repositories and teams
- Contribute to the development of our internal developer platform (IDP), including self-service tooling, workflows, and automation
- Own testing, documentation, and rollout for platform enhancements and new tool integrations
- Write reliable, maintainable code in languages like Python, Go, or TypeScript
- Collaborate with teammates and internal customers to gather feedback and improve developer experience
- Contribute to a product that runs at a scale few companies can access
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming sessions
- Grow into ownership of a platform surface, with support from senior engineers on the team
