About The Position

MHC is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Platform Engineer to join their Technology Operations team. This role is crucial for building and maintaining cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling. The ideal candidate will contribute to improving the development experience for engineering teams and play a key part in ensuring the platform supports the full SDLC and emerging AI development lifecycle (AIDLC) safely, at scale, and without friction, especially as MHC adopts AI-assisted and autonomous agentic development practices.

Requirements

  • Experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure, including compute, networking, and storage
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker in a production environment
  • Proficiency with infrastructure automation using Terraform or comparable IaC tooling
  • Experience supporting and improving CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, including YAML pipelines and agent pools
  • Experience with GitOps workflows using ArgoCD or Flux
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancing, and firewall configurations
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar)
  • Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools such as the ELK stack or Prometheus and Grafana
  • Experience with Helm charts and Git version control best practices
  • Working knowledge of database technologies such as PostgreSQL or MS SQL Server
  • Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows server environments
  • Familiarity with APM tooling such as Elastic APM or New Relic
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document platform capabilities clearly for engineering audiences
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, including work across onshore and offshore team structures
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required; equivalent practical experience considered
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure role
  • 2 or more years of hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Internal Developer Platform (IDP) tooling such as Backstage, Port, or Cortex.
  • Experience with policy enforcement tooling: OPA Gatekeeper, Kyverno, or Sigstore.
  • Experience with Keycloak or other identity providers.
  • Experience with image building tools such as Packer.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot Workspace) and building platform infrastructure to support them.
  • Familiarity with agentic orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
  • Understanding of LLMOps concepts: prompt versioning, agent observability, hallucination detection, and cost attribution for AI workloads.
  • Azure and/or AWS certifications, including CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator).

Responsibilities

  • Build, deploy, and maintain infrastructure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments using Terraform and related IaC tooling.
  • Design and provision reliable cloud resources across AWS and Azure, including compute, networking, and storage.
  • Manage and operate Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads using Docker and Helm charts.
  • Build and maintain networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancing, and firewall configurations.
  • Support troubleshooting across scalability, high availability, performance, backup, and restore scenarios.
  • Assist with cloud cost monitoring and identify optimization opportunities across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Support and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, including YAML pipelines, self-hosted agent pools, and service integrations.
  • Implement and maintain GitOps workflows using ArgoCD or Flux, managing desired state through version control.
  • Develop and maintain reusable pipeline templates and shared workflow libraries.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to plan and execute releases and patches.
  • Contribute to self-service developer tooling and internal platform capabilities that reduce friction and ticket-driven workflows for engineering teams.
  • Help define and maintain “Golden Path” templates — standardized, pre-approved workflows for common tasks like deploying a new service or provisioning a database.
  • Gather developer feedback and iterate on platform tooling to measurably improve engineering velocity.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for platform capabilities and self-service processes.
  • Support the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) — from planning and coding through testing, review, deployment, and operations — by ensuring platform infrastructure is purpose-built to accelerate each stage.
  • Build and maintain platform capabilities that support the AI-assisted development lifecycle (AIDLC), including infrastructure and runtime environments that enable autonomous agentic coding tools to operate safely within engineering workflows.
  • Provision and manage compute environments, access controls, and sandboxed execution contexts for agentic development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, or similar), ensuring they can run autonomously without compromising security or stability.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design guardrails, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and audit trails for autonomous agent workflows — including automated build diagnosis, infrastructure remediation, and code generation pipelines.
  • Support integration of AI agents into CI/CD pipelines, enabling agentic systems to participate in testing, code review, and deployment workflows with appropriate oversight controls.
  • Help establish platform standards for LLMOps concerns — including prompt versioning, agent output observability, and per-call cost attribution — as agentic systems move into production use.
  • Build and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions using the ELK stack or Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Support the availability, reliability, and performance of mission-critical hosted services.
  • Implement and maintain policy enforcement tooling (e.g., OPA Gatekeeper or Kyverno) to ensure security and compliance guardrails are built into platform workflows.
  • Support InfoSec scans, compliance audits, and SOC 2-related operational controls.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and contribute ideas for improving platform capabilities.
