The Global Platform Engineering team is tasked with architecting, building, and maintaining the essential infrastructure, tooling, and services that empower engineering teams to operate at scale safely and reliably. In this newly established team, a Platform Engineer will contribute to the design and implementation of foundational systems and services. This role involves collaborating with experienced engineers to develop scalable solutions, enhance automation, and support critical areas like cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and developer experience. The ideal candidate will possess curiosity, strong problem-solving abilities, and a desire to learn new technologies, with a keen interest in building robust and efficient infrastructure. A welcoming environment for continuous improvement and new ideas, coupled with excellent communication and attention to detail, will be crucial for transforming complex challenges into practical solutions that benefit engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Solid communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or another major cloud provider.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and automation tools.
  • Experience contributing to the operation of production systems, ideally in a distributed or cloud environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (Amazon EKS in production)
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring/logging tools
  • Experience with messaging queues or event-driven systems (RabbitMQ)
  • Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Networking basics
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database
  • Linux system administration basics
  • Exposure to multi-team environments or shared platform services.
  • Interest in data-focused systems such as analytics, telemetry, or IoT
  • Familiarity with CI/CD or observability practices beyond the basics
  • A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for learning from more senior engineers

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to building and improving platform services, writing code, reviewing changes, and supporting deployments
  • Work alongside senior engineers to design and implement solutions that improve scalability, reliability, and developer experience
  • Help maintain and operate core systems such as CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and monitoring
  • Participate in incident response and retrospectives, contributing to learning and improvement
  • Collaborate with other engineers to understand needs and translate them into practical platform solutions
  • Take ownership of tasks and smaller projects, while developing towards owning larger areas of the platform
