Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time, highly motivated Systems Engineer to join the Submarine C5I Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) program. The role supports the Architecture Platform as a Service (PaaS) team and the Common Compute Environment (CCE) software product. Primary responsibilities include developing clear high‑level system requirements and narratives, as well as capturing design and development related changes as the product evolves. The Systems Engineer will collaborate closely with the PaaS software development team and interact with subsystem stakeholders to gather feedback and refine SE artifacts. This position blends high-level requirements analysis, technical writing, and practical problem-solving within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment, contributing directly to the advancement of submarine C5I capabilities.

  • Contribute to the CCE development guide, defining the procedures and best practices that enable collaborators to integrate with the CCE.
  • Assist in version control and configuration management activities for all SE artifacts—including requirements, the CCE Development Guide, and related documentation—to keep them current with design and development updates.
  • Serve as a liaison to subsystem stakeholders, proactively soliciting feedback, addressing inquiries, and incorporating stakeholder input into the SE artifacts.
  • Partner with the PaaS development team during integration activities, translating observed issues and design decisions into updated SE documentation.
  • Conduct systems engineering analyses—estimating node storage, CCE resource needs, and performance/reliability—to forecast the CCE’s composition and capacity and inform design decisions.
  • Support the PaaS development team’s effort to embed Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) into their routine workflow.
  • Partner with the SE&I Execution team to manage baseline updates, ensuring that changes related to baseline deliverables and documentation are accurately incorporated.
  • Collaborate with the test automation team to define verification methods for requirements, contribute to review cycles, and ensure that validation activities align with the evolving baseline.
