About The Position

The Platemaker – Operative is responsible for producing plates and ensuring the quality of the finished product through the utilization of QC tools/software. They will prepare all imaged products for shipment, ensuring the integrity and quality of the imaged product.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or graphic arts trade school training.
  • Must have a desire to learn and willingness to utilize new technologies in a production environment.
  • Each employee must conduct themselves in a professional manner and adhere to department procedures in order to maintain a safe working environment for everyone.
  • The Imaging Department works in a team atmosphere, where everyone shares in the responsibility for the production and quality of our work.
  • It is the responsibility of each employee to work as part of this team.
  • Demonstrates the willingness to assist in the training and development of others.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a pre-press environment will help, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Process jobs per written and/or verbal instructions from the Imaging Supervisor or Imaging Manager.
  • Create accurate records within the Imaging database.
  • Package and ship all plate orders.
  • Accurately use the Amcor Image Carrier Order system to record all critical production information.
  • Assist in the training of new employees.
  • Communicate with printing plants the timing of plates when needed.
  • Image plates on the imager.
  • Ensure all Bulbs in the light frame and the processor are operating.
  • Replace Bulbs as needed.
  • Restock plate material in staging area as needed utilizing the tow motor.
  • Setup jobs in a manner that minimizes waste while gaining efficiencies utilizing ESKO Merge software.
  • Log all jobs / plates measurements in the Amcor Image Carrier Order system accurately.
  • Perform Quality inspection on all finished plates.
  • Pack/prepare plates shipments.
  • Keep all tools in their proper location.
  • Clean glass on light tables.
  • Complete all daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and cleaning tasks as scheduled.
  • Empty all trash.
  • Utilize the KANBAN process to ensure all supplies used in the department are readily available.
  • General Maintenance of all equipment in department.
