About The Position

The anilox cleaner is a specialized worker responsible for maintaining and cleaning anilox rollers, which are used in printing presses to evenly distribute ink onto printing plates. Their job involves using cleaning solutions and specialized equipment to remove ink residue from the microscopic cells on the anilox roller, ensuring consistent print quality by preventing ink build-up and maintaining the functionality of the roller. Dirty anilox rollers are pulled out from the press and placed on the press rack or press cart. The Anilox Cleaner, at the beginning of every shift, has to go press by press to collect and bring anilox rollers to the cleaning station.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Familiar using Computer.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Following safety protocols.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhering to safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals, filling tanks, and operating cleaning machines.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly cleaning Anilox rollers using appropriate cleaning chemicals, brushes, and cleaning machines, often using Flexo Wash Cleaning Systems, to thoroughly remove ink from the cell.
  • Before and after cleaning, examine the Anilox rollers for damage, wear, or any unusual sign of ink build up on the journal, reporting issues to the press team lead.
  • Clean both Anilox and Plate Cylinder detail clinging and grassed as needed.
  • Ensuring the proper functioning of cleaning machines, including refilling cleaning solutions and monitoring their effectiveness.
