About The Position

The Plate Mounter Assistant is primarily responsible for accurately mounting printing plates onto sleeves using an automatic mounting machine. This role ensures that plates are precisely mounted according to job descriptions and specifications. The job involves preparing materials, checking job orders for accuracy, inspecting plates and sleeves for correct specifications and condition, applying sticky back to sleeves without trapping air, and mounting plates accurately. Post-mounting, quality control checks are performed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Familiarity with using a computer.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Check job order for accuracy and request corrections as needed.
• Verify that the mounting plate is the correct item, in good condition, and of the specified thickness.
• Inspect the mounting sleeve for correct repeat, material, plate thickness, press compatibility, and overall condition.
• Apply sticky back to the sleeve using a tape applicator machine, ensuring no air is trapped between the sleeve and the sticky back.
• Clean the back of the plate with 99.9% isopropanol alcohol.
• Trim the plate if necessary.
• Mount the plate accurately onto the sleeve using the automatic mounting machine.
• Perform pre-mount and post-mount quality control checks.
