About The Position

Elm Plating Company is seeking a Maintenance Team Member for their Plate Division. This role is responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of facility equipment. The company emphasizes safety, teamwork, and quality, and offers a supportive environment with opportunities for growth. This position is part of a rotating 12-hour schedule, providing a 3-day weekend every other week and consistent full-time hours with overtime.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years' experience required, preferably with plate machinery or similar mechanical systems.
  • Must have excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to successfully demonstrate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repair knowledge and experience.
  • Welding or fabrication skills related to plate equipment repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to communicate well with all levels of management and plant employees both verbally and in written form.
  • Must maintain valid forklift license.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must maintain prompt and regular attendance.
  • Job requires mobility throughout the plants, extended periods of walking or standing, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and bend, twist, kneel and climb.
  • Understands the environmental directives of EPC.
  • Understands the environmental impact of their division.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on plate equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
  • Diagnose mechanical and operational issues using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Execute repairs and replacements of worn or damaged components in a timely manner to minimize production interruptions.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities and communicate equipment status.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future upkeep.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new plate equipment as needed.
  • Comply with work, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
