About The Position

Eagle Manufacturing, a Justrite Safety Group company, is looking for a Plastics Value Stream Supervisor for our Wellsburg, WV operations. The Plastics Value Stream Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all production processes within the Plastics Department to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent manufacturing operations. This position will provide leadership and direction to department employees while ensuring production schedules, quality standards, productivity goals, and customer requirements are met. The Plastics Value Stream Supervisor will work closely with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and other departments to identify and resolve production issues, improve processes, and maximize equipment and employee utilization. This role will also support continuous improvement initiatives, promote Lean Manufacturing principles, and help develop and maintain a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who can effectively manage changing priorities, troubleshoot production and process issues, communicate expectations clearly, and motivate employees to achieve department goals.

Requirements

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment – 3 to 5 years preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Lean manufacturing experience
Ability to travel occasionally
Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

Promote and actively drive a strong safety culture throughout the Plastics Department by ensuring employees follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Provide daily leadership, direction, and support to Plastics Department employees to ensure production goals and departmental objectives are achieved.
Oversee machine setup, production operations, and quality of finished products while ensuring established processes and specifications are followed.
Monitor production performance, staffing, productivity, scrap, downtime, and other key operating metrics; identify opportunities for improvement and take appropriate corrective action.
Coordinate production activities to ensure customer requirements and production schedules are met while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance activities for all equipment within the Plastics Department in partnership with the Maintenance team.
Assist with troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and process issues and coordinate corrective actions to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
Responsible for new product implementation on all applicable machines, including machine shakedown, process development, process adjustments, and production readiness.
Work closely with Engineering and Quality to establish, document, and maintain effective manufacturing processes and product standards.
Monitor product quality throughout the production process and address quality issues promptly to prevent non-conforming product from reaching customers.
Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve productivity, increase equipment utilization, and optimize manufacturing processes through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
Support and participate in continuous improvement activities, including process improvements, standard work, 5S, problem solving, and other Lean initiatives.
Ensure employees are properly trained on equipment, processes, quality requirements, safety procedures, and standard work practices.
Maintain accurate production reporting, departmental records, and other required documentation.
Review and approve departmental payroll and ensure timekeeping records are accurate and submitted according to company requirements.
Communicate production priorities, performance expectations, process changes, and company initiatives effectively to employees and management.
Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve operational issues and maintain efficient flow of materials and production.
Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, feedback, and accountability as necessary to support department goals.
Assist with staffing and scheduling needs, including coverage for shift work, overtime, and weekends as required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area consistent with company standards.
Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities as required.
Maintain a proactive, problem-solving approach to production challenges and continuously seek opportunities to improve department performance.
Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Value Stream Manager.
