About The Position

We are a growing mechanical contractor specializing in industrial piping, skid fabrication, and equipment installation. Our team works on a mix of shop-built systems and field projects, giving employees exposure to a variety of hands-on work. We invest in training and always give our employees the opportunity to expand into new areas of the trade. We are seeking experienced Plastic Welders to join our team. Work will primarily be performed on an active construction jobsite in Cartersville, GA. Travel to other jobsites and our shops in Alpharetta, GA and Gainesville, GA may be needed. Candidates must be willing to travel to locations as needed.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of plastic fusion piping experience in commercial or industrial mechanical work
  • Proficient in one or more fusion method on Aquatherm, Niron, or HDPE
  • Able to read and work from isometric drawings, mechanical plans, and submittals
  • Strong fit-up and layout skills
  • Familiarity with working on active construction jobsites
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites across Georgia
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift certifications

Responsibilities

  • Fuse and install Aquatherm (PP-R / PP-RCT), Niron (PP-RCT), and/or HDPE piping systems on commercial and industrial projects
  • Perform socket fusion, butt fusion, and electrofusion as specifications require
  • Lay out and route piping from isometric drawings, mechanical plans, and field conditions
  • Cut, face, align, heat, and join pipe and fittings
  • Set hangers, supports, and anchors
  • Operate and maintain fusion equipment
  • Test piping systems for leaks and ensure compliance with codes and project specs
  • Learn new fabrication and fitting processes and techniques
  • Maintain consistent quality requirements
  • Operate and collaborate effectively under foremen
  • Work safely with rigging, lifting equipment, and other work permits
  • Coordinate with other trades on active construction sites
