About The Position
The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) is seeking a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery specialist to join their team at Largo and Kensington Medical Center. MAPMG is a physician-led group of over 1,800 physicians in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., exclusively caring for Kaiser Permanente patients. Unlike other U.S. health systems, MAPMG physicians earn competitive salaries without income based on individual services. The group comprises board-certified physicians across 60+ specialties and utilizes a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) for care coordination. MAPMG focuses on long-term health, prevention, and effective disease treatment, with researchers and staff supporting innovation, quality care, educational programming, and advancing best practices through research.
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Eligible in Plastic Surgery
- Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia
- Comfort and willingness to perform microsurgical cases
Nice To Haves
- Microvascular fellowship is preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform a broad reconstructive practice including implant-based and autologous breast reconstruction, post-weight-loss soft tissue removal, head-to-toe reconstruction of soft tissue defects in coordination with the surgical oncology team, post-Mohs reconstruction of facial defects, breast reductions, functional blepharoplasties, transgender top surgery, and other miscellaneous reconstructive cases.
- Work in a collaborative environment with a group of 7 other full-time plastic surgeons.
- Participate in call coverage for patients, split evenly among all plastic surgeons, which does not involve coverage of hand call.
- Perform microsurgical cases, primarily in the context of breast reconstruction (DIEP flaps), as part of a two-surgeon team.
