About The Position

The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) is seeking a part-time Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery specialist to join their team at Largo and Kensington Medical Center. MAPMG is a physician-led group of over 1,800 physicians in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., exclusively caring for Kaiser Permanente patients. MAPMG physicians are board-certified across 60+ specialties and utilize a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) for care coordination. The group focuses on long-term health, prevention, and effective disease diagnosis and treatment, supported by researchers and staff who foster innovation and advance best practices.

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Eligible in Plastic Surgery
• Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia
• Comfort and willingness to perform microsurgical cases, primarily in the context of breast reconstruction (DIEP flaps), as part of a two-surgeon team.

Nice To Haves

• Microvascular fellowship is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad reconstructive practice including implant-based and autologous breast reconstruction, post-weight-loss soft tissue removal, head-to-toe reconstruction of soft tissue defects in coordination with the surgical oncology team, post-Mohs reconstruction of facial defects, breast reductions, functional blepharoplasties, transgender top surgery, and other miscellaneous reconstructive cases.
• Work in a collaborative environment with a group of 7 other full-time plastic surgeons.
• Participate in call coverage for patients, split evenly among all plastic surgeons, which does not involve hand call.
• Perform microsurgical cases, primarily in the context of breast reconstruction (DIEP flaps), as part of a two-surgeon team.
