About The Position

Howmet Aerospace/Tempcraft is hiring a Plastic Injector at its Cleveland, Ohio location. Under the supervision of the Production Area Lead, this role operates plastic injection machines to produce a variety of parts and is accountable for the quality of the parts produced and meeting department production needs. The position works Monday through Friday, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., and pays $17–$20 per hour, starting at $17 per hour.

The role requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), although employees are not exposed to hazardous materials. Work involves light to moderate physical activity, including walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods, as well as some lifting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• At least one year of experience operating a plastic injection machine.
• General manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a cell team.

Responsibilities

• Operate plastic injection machines to produce a variety of parts.
• Ensure the quality of produced pieces and meet department production needs.
• Show the supervisor the first piece produced on each setup.
• Set and manage machine parameters, including cycle, temperature, pressure, and weigh feeder.
• Notify the Leader or Manufacturing Manager if machine setup or operation is mechanically difficult or other problems exist.
• Visually inspect parts for defects.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and follow basic safety precautions.
