About The Position

This role focuses on the daily execution of plastic injection molding processes, including starting up tools, producing parts according to standards, and troubleshooting existing processes. A secondary priority involves training and mentoring entry-level technicians, assisting in the development of secondary molding processes, implementing 5S in the molding area, and auditing quality standards. The third priority is continuous improvement to reduce costs by identifying problems and utilizing PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) for solutions.

Requirements

  • 3 years in a mold technician role
  • Proven technical and problem solving skills
  • Pass C and B Tech verification process

Nice To Haves

  • Apprenticeship participation or post high school education in plastic injection molding preferred
  • Continuing education (i.e. lean manufacturing, problem solving and process improvement)

Responsibilities

  • Start-up existing tools and produce good parts at standard per the PCS and MFG Floor Doc
  • Flex to Setup based on priority (High-Low), setting up metalizers and laser cutters
  • Troubleshoot existing processes
  • Follow standards as assigned
  • Train and mentor C Techs (our entry level process technician role.)
  • Aid in creation of Mold secondary processes - i.e. End of arm tools, Heat Staking, In-Mold Labeling, etc.
  • 5's in the Molding area
  • Audit quality standards on existing runs
  • Surface problems
  • Utilize PDCA to solve problems and drive improvements
