About The Position

The Plastic Injection Manufacturing Mold Tech is responsible for starting up, maintaining, and improving processes for injection molding machines and secondary equipment. The goal is to ensure processes meet or exceed quality requirements set by the Quality Department and customer specifications. The role has the authority to start up, shut down, or alter manufacturing processes as needed, and to stop any activity that poses a safety risk. Responsibilities include performing mold changes, setting up auxiliary equipment, and completing tasks assigned by a supervisor, including minor maintenance.

Requirements

  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Familiar with molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Familiar with the technology associated with injection molding.
  • Ability to perform and complete mold changes.
  • Good work habits and the ability to reason.
  • Prior molding experience.
  • Ability to lift equipment and materials on a frequent and recurring basis up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain an acceptable absentee level.
  • Able to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Start-up, shut down, or alter a manufacturing process as required.
  • Perform mold changes and set-up auxiliary equipment when required.
  • Perform tasks asked of them by their supervisor.
  • Perform minor maintenance as required by their supervisor.
  • Interpret quality control findings and make adjustments as required.
  • Audit processes and make changes as needed.
  • Perform mold changes efficiently and safely at all times.
  • Maintain mold and fixture areas as needed.
  • Evaluate and investigate efficiency of injection molding machines and adjust as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation.
  • Maintain housekeeping requirements.
  • Perform other duties assigned to them by their supervisor.
