About The Position

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Patients arrive when injury, cancer, or difference has changed how they live and how they are seen. You will restore form and function—and, when chosen, deliver aesthetic results that hold up under honest follow-up. The role matters because a safe plan, a well-timed operation, and a clear recovery path are what turn a referral into a durable outcome.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with board certification, or active board eligibility, in plastic surgery.
  • Unrestricted medical license, or eligibility to obtain one before the start date.
  • Independent experience in the reconstructive work this service must deliver—microsurgery, breast, hand, or trauma—supported by a recent case log.
  • A credentialing file that supports timely hospital privileges.
  • Outcomes and professional conduct that will clear medical staff review.
  • Clear counseling of surgical risk and aesthetic limits so consent matches what surgery can achieve.

Responsibilities

  • Build a balanced reconstructive and aesthetic practice that meets agreed volume, case-mix, and contribution targets within 18 months.
  • Keep complication, unplanned return-to-OR, and revision rates at or better than peer benchmarks for the procedures you perform.
  • Complete operative plans, consents, and documentation so cases start on time and coding supports accurate reimbursement.
  • Coordinate with oncology, trauma, and wound teams so staged reconstructions are scheduled and closed without avoidable delay.
  • Run clinic so each patient leaves with a realistic plan, understood risks, and a scheduled next step.
  • Use morbidity review to reduce infection, flap loss, and preventable readmissions, and close assigned actions on time.
