Plasma Table Programmer
About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Plasma Table Programmer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming and operating our CNC plasma cutting table to produce steel components according to precise specifications. This position requires the ability to read and interpret technical documents, utilize CAD/CAM software, and ensure the quality and accuracy of cut parts. You will also be involved in material setup, equipment maintenance, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Effective communication with the production team is essential to meet cutting schedules and deadlines.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Ability to lift/move materials as needed and work safely around industrial equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Ability to lift 50 lbs independently (100 lbs with assistance)
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, push, pull, and various repetitive motions
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana)
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with CNC plasma table programming/operation preferred
- CAD/CAM software experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Program and operate CNC plasma cutting table to cut steel components to specification
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
- Import and edit part files/nesting layouts using CAD/CAM software
- Set up material on the table and adjust cutting parameters (speed, amperage, torch height) for optimal cut quality
- Deburr and clean up completed pieces to remove slag, sharp edges, and rough cuts
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality; make adjustments as needed
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on plasma table equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Communicate with production team to prioritize cutting schedules and meet deadlines
