About The Position

The client is in the custom machinery industry and is seeking a Plasma Table Programmer/Designer. This role is responsible for using prints and diagrams of products to be produced to determine how to best use sheets of steel and minimize waste. This position will also be doing design for machinery and mechanical devices. This is a temp to possible perm role that must be performed on-site. The design side of this role can be taught but candidates must have plasma table programming experience. Some travel is required for site visits/measuring trips (minimal).

Requirements

• Plasma table programming experience.
• Knowledge in mechanical/structural design or exposure to equipment blueprints/drawings.
• Inventor or CAD software experience.
• ProNest programming experience or something similar.

Responsibilities

• Using prints and diagrams of products to be produced to determine how to best use sheets of steel and minimize waste.
• Doing design for machinery and mechanical devices.
• Assessing fabrication drawings to determine which parts need plasma cut and identify any irregularities with specific parts that may require attention or alterations.
• Maintaining inventory of remnant plates available in the shop.
• Troubleshooting plasma table software.
• Delivering printed nest documents to plasma table operator which include appropriate information for work order number of each part and material specifications.
• Site visits/measuring trips (minimal travel).
