About The Position
We are seeking a Plasma Table Operator to support our fabrication shop by operating a CNC plasma cutting table and assisting with material handling and part preparation. This role is focused on production cutting of structural steel components, not precision CNC machining. This is an ideal role for someone with fabrication or shop experience who enjoys hands-on work and working with steel.
Requirements
- Experience operating a plasma table or similar fabrication equipment preferred
- Ability to read basic fabrication drawings and cut lists
- Comfortable working with steel plate and structural material
- Familiarity with overhead cranes and forklifts (or willingness to learn)
- Basic computer skills for loading programs and tracking jobs
- Strong attention to safety and shop organization
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC plasma cutting table to cut plate, sheet, and structural components
- Load and unload material using overhead cranes or forklifts
- Verify material type, thickness, and quantities before cutting
- Perform basic machine setup, zeroing, and consumable changes
- Conduct visual inspection of cut parts and verify basic dimensions
- Grind, deburr, and stage cut parts for fabrication
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of plasma table and surrounding area
- Coordinate with fabrication team to prioritize cutting schedules
