The Plasma Processing Technician is responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, administering and supervising immunizations, and providing limited emergency medical care. This role promotes positive customer relations, conducts confidential interviews, and addresses medically related questions from staff. The technician performs medical history reviews, health assessments, and interprets screening and laboratory test results to determine donor suitability. They also notify and counsel donors with reactive test results, refer them for follow-up, and explain informed consent procedures, including potential risks and benefits. The technician manages medical emergencies, checks emergency kits, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. They maintain accurate donor data, a clean work environment, and uphold confidentiality. Bilingual skills may be required, and cross-training in other areas may be necessary. Other job-related duties may be assigned.
