Responsible for the accurate and timely sampling, testing, shipping and storage of plasma collected from donors. This role involves ensuring product quality by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for collecting plasma samples, moving plasma units to freezers, and proper storage of plasma units, including unsuitable ones. The technician will verify label accuracy, utilize sterile techniques for sample collection and sealing, and may be responsible for packing and shipping samples and units according to SOPs and center procedures. Additionally, the role requires monitoring equipment temperatures, performing daily equipment calibration, accurately recording donor data in the electronic donor information management system, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment with adequate supplies. The position also necessitates understanding hyper immune programs, promoting safety, and maintaining confidentiality of all information. Bilingual skills may be required, and the technician may be cross-trained in other areas. Other job-related duties may be assigned.
