Responsible for the accurate and timely sampling, testing, shipping and storage of plasma collected from donors. The role involves collecting plasma samples, moving plasma units to the freezer to ensure product quality, and ensuring plasma units are properly stored according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This includes handling unsuitable plasma units and samples, verifying the accuracy of unit labeling, and utilizing sterile technique to draw samples and use a heat sealer to assure sterility and quality. The position may also involve packing and shipping samples and units, preparing shipping and unit disposal documentation, monitoring freezer and refrigerator temperatures, and recording variances. Daily calibration of equipment and accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system are also key responsibilities. The role requires understanding policies associated with hyper immune programs, maintaining a clean work environment, and following Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies. Confidentiality of information is essential. Bilingual skills may be required, and other job-related duties may be assigned.
