About The Position

This role requires that all individuals on the team hold one of the following current/active certifications: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 License (CPT1), a California Certified Phlebotomy Technician 2 License (CPT2), a California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS), or a California Medical Laboratory Technician License (MLT). This position is eligible for California licensing reimbursement if a current license is not held at time of application. Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changing medicines. You will report to the District Manager and oversee the general management of employees assigned to the production areas. You will manage the operations of the plasma collection facility, including financial, marketing, administrative, regulatory, quality, personnel and facilities management tasks. BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required but higher level degree is desired.
  • Minimum of three years' experience preferably in a medical or other regulated field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The ability to work weekends/extended work periods and occasionally travel
  • A valid and current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) certification
  • Requires ability to be mobile for entire work shift
  • Requires occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, leaning, reaching above shoulders and below knees, and lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Have fine motor coordination, depth perception and ability to monitor equipment sound from a distance
  • Current license or certification in the state where duties will be assigned: Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 (CPT1), Certified Phlebotomy Technician 2 (CPT2), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations within the facility and use data to monitor metrics
  • Oversee employee hiring, training and develop employee talent
  • Provide leadership to ensure donor retention, high customer service levels, production monitoring and cost data
  • Comply with all federal, state, local and company regulations related to quality of product, employee and donor safety
  • Manage facility audit processes and help resolve any related issues that arise from the audit
  • Forecast and attain production and cost goals, while assuring compliance with BioLife, local and federal regulations
  • Manage bloodborne pathogens protocols
